I used to live on the Gulf of Mexico, it really has a lot to offer, but on my adopted coast, the water is more clear and we have surfing. Also dolphins, Marlin, Cero, water that is under 95 degrees year round. Oh, and a 2 hour boat ride to the Bahamas on a calm day.We do it better than off the coast of California. We provide dolphins to welcome Space X capsules back home. California didn't even have a killer whale.
We have more shoreline on the Gulf than anyone so it is our Gulf moron.

Where is this Gulf of Mexico that you speak of? I grew up about 40 miles from the Gulf. I enjoy fishing in the Gulf I like Red Snapper and Mackerel. You are correct about water clarity . The Mississippi and Sabine muddy the water but there are areas of the Gulf coast with clear water.

The Spaniards BECAME Mexicans, centuries before there was a USA. They EARNED the Gulf of Mexico- they didn't try to steal it like some scurvy German import to North America.
There is no lack of them here. We also have a lot of Redfish I like catching bull Reds at where the Brazos dumps into the Gulf of America.
