Trump "Hands off" protests fizzle rather than sizzle

So this is happening right now

Now you are introducing a red herring. Way to try and change the subject.

This is just filibustering by moving the goal posts followed by a non sequitur

Nah - just looking for ANYTHING aside from you seeing a clip of a few of the 1,100 protests that didn't have as many people as you would have thought.

The event's organizers said turnout FAR exceeded expectations, and it was clear looking at the bigger ones and the rest that at least a million showed up.

Sorry. People don't like these tariffs, or DOGE.

  • Organizer Estimates: The groups behind the protests, including over 150 organizations like MoveOn and Indivisible, initially reported more than 500,000 RSVPs by Friday night, April 4, 2025. By Saturday, April 5, after the events, some organizers claimed attendance far exceeded expectations, with estimates ranging from "hundreds of thousands" to "millions." For example, one report suggested cities like Washington, D.C., and New York City each saw over 100,000 attendees, while Raleigh, North Carolina, reportedly had 45,000 show up despite only 2,000 RSVPs.
  • Media Reports:
    • Al Jazeera reported "tens of thousands" nationwide, with organizers estimating over 250,000 participants.
    • The Guardian cited organizers claiming "more than 500,000" demonstrated across the U.S., including in Washington, D.C., and Florida.
    • Rolling Stone echoed "hundreds of thousands" across all 50 states and globally, with over 500,000 RSVPs noted pre-event.
    • Axios mentioned "millions" by organizers’ counts, though this seems to reflect a high-end extrapolation rather than a verified total.
    • Posts on X from users like @Sklp795L claimed "500,000 to over 1 million," reflecting sentiment but not necessarily hard data.
  • Specific Locations:
    • Washington, D.C.: Organizers expected 20,000 at the National Mall but reported far higher turnout—potentially over 100,000 based on crowd descriptions and organizer statements.
    • New York City: Similarly, reports suggest over 100,000, though exact counts are unconfirmed.
    • Smaller Cities: Places like St. Joseph, Michigan, and Macon, Georgia, saw hundreds per event, while Chicago and Boston had thousands.
  • Challenges in Counting: The sheer scale—over 1,200 rallies—makes a precise total elusive. Local reports vary (e.g., "hundreds" in St. Joseph vs. "tens of thousands" in Paris globally), and no centralized authority tracked every participant. Estimates also differ due to weather (rain in many areas), spontaneous attendance, and the lack of real-time crowd-size verification.
Best Estimate: Combining the data, the total number of protesters likely falls between 250,000 and 1 million across the U.S. The lower end (250,000–500,000) aligns with conservative media tallies and pre-event RSVPs adjusted for turnout, while the higher end (up to 1 million or more) reflects organizer claims and the potential for underreported participation in smaller towns. Without a definitive count, I’d lean toward 500,000–750,000 as a reasonable middle ground, acknowledging the event’s scale but tempering the most optimistic figures.

@Grok

It was funny - Fox reported on one of them, where the #'s were very clearly in the thousands, and they used "hundreds" as the descriptor.

They were mocked online for that. So partisan.
In Denver, blue city, seems that you are proving the point in the OP, not proving it wrong.

In the OP he said that some deep blue cities had some turnout, then you got excited because one of them was reported on Fox News... which literally did nothing to prove him wrong. It's like you don't comprehend the language.

Huh?

Like, seriously....what are you talking about?

He was cherry-picking. Not me. I brought up the Fox story because it was ridiculed, and mirrored how he's trying to downplay the #'s. I didn't "get excited." I was providing an illustrative example of denial.

Sorry that you completely misinterpreted that.

Let me see. This is how this thread went:

OP says: Other than some large crowds in some deep blue cities. blah blah blah...

Then You say: But Fox News reported one crowd was huge! (The post of yours I quoted, actually).

Then I notice your post quote it and and say: Um... He said some deep blue cities had big crowds, the one of Fox News was Denver... which is a deep blue city. Which actually says exactly the same thing the OP said... and then I ask if you actually understand the language....

Then you go: What? I can't understand things!

How's the recap going? You catching on now?

The bolded is completely false.

So, there ya go.

And the rest of the "recap" sucks. What happened to you?

I continue to think that the game is to keep giving Trump/MAGA more rope expecting a self hanging. The forces of the New Slavers are not yet ready to pounce.

You wanna read that post again?

Embarrassing.
I'm sorry you were embarrassed.

I get what you are saying, you think I should have said you posted about one city that Fox reported on saying that "Fox called it a few hundred"... but again, "they called thousands hundreds" doesn't change the reality that I underscore (nor is it accurate, link us up bub). His OP said that some deep blue cities had some good turnout, then you said: "Nuh-uh, because some cities had some big turnout!"

lol....
