I never said the President was ASSHOLE.
As it says in the CONSTITUTION states may choose how they want their delegates to the EC to be appointed and they can appoint them any way they want , the do NOT even need to hold elections if they state legislature doesn't want to.
The state legislature can just appoint whom they want to be their delegates to the EC, but if they did that they may not have a job for long.

I have read it many of times you half an ASSHOLE.
And as I posted it states in art. 4 (believe ) that states can appoint their delegates to the EC any way the state legislatures decide.

Electoral College
Clause 2. Each State shall appoint, in such Manner as the Legislature thereof may direct, a Number of Electors, equal to the whole Number of Senators and Representatives to which the State may be entitled in the Congress; but no Senator or Representative, or Person holding an Office of Trust or Profit under the United States, shall be appointed an Elector.
YES " in such Manner as the Legislature thereof may direct, " the state legislature can decide NOT to even hold elections and just appoint whom ever they want, but I am sure if they did that they wouldn't have a job very long.
