Yep we have a lot of oil but we still have to import about 7 to 8 MBPD for our needs we use about that much more then we produce.
We produce in the area of 13.2MBPD and use over 20 MBPD.

The price of oil is global, so if the price of oil is 110 dollars a barrel, it's 110 dollars a barrel here too, which means higher gasoline prices here too?!!

we have to import 7 / 8 MBPD of oil to meet our needs, what we export is very large amount of NG and that makes us a net exporter of ENERGY
We use to be a net importer of energy then they started fracking in the Marcellus NG reserve and we became a net exporter of energy because we export large amounts of NG.
