Th matter of why people are getting dumber is of great debate....I suspect that it is too easy a life and living in a tech society.....which are connected.

It used to be the stupid killed themselves off in interesting and often hilarious ways. Today, we have intrusive government and other such institutions that keep that from happening. The result is the stupid survive when they'd otherwise die off and multiply. That results in an increase in stupidity beyond what nature intended.
