This is a pretty amazing statistic when you think about it.
In the AFC of the 50 Super Bowls played, 42 (84%) of them have been represented by seven teams
Steelers - 8
Patriots - 8
Broncos - 8
Raiders - 5
Dolphins - 5
Colts - 4
Bills - 4
In the NFC of the 50 Super Bowls played, 36 (72%) of them have been represented by seven teams
Cowboys - 8
49ers - 6
Giants - 5
Packers - 5
Redskins - 5
Vikings - 4
Rams - 3
Also, since 2004 in the AFC three QBs have been in 12 out of 13 Super Bowls - Ben Roethlisberger, Peyton Manning and Tom Brady. The lone exception was Joe Flacco
So what does all of this mean? Despite all of the NFLs efforts to create "parity" in the league, the truly great organizations remain great and will always rise to the top.
Crazy
