And the Swiss get it backwards...

Was erwartet ihr von schmutz'gen kleinen Heiden? Wer gottlos ist, der ist mir gar nicht Recht.

Wow. Well, based on the article, at least I agree with the child porn statute of limitations being sacked (unless I read it wrong).

The rest is just.....*facepalm*

I think it is an excellent ploy by the Swiss populace to make themselves known for something other than the cuckoo clock (which they didn't actually invent).

Well done Switzerlanders.

They are using heroin as a "treatment". It isn't exactly decriminalization.

But if you want a treatment program for heroin, heroin isn't the drug to use, because it's resistence builds so quick.

A lot of European nations have somewhat aliberal traditions. Sweden, for instance, is the most left wing government in the developed world probably, but they criminalize prostitution and have some of the most fascist drug laws in the developed world outside of America.

I know you like to misuse the word fascist to the point of insignificance, but your statement is uninformed.

You can get lashes for possession in some African, Middle Eastern and South Asian countries.

I just double labeled "The developed world". Really, Epic, the undeveloped world is so different from the developed world it's not even worth mentioning. But Sweden probably has the most fascist drug enforcement laws; for instance, it's legal for them to bust up a party, shine flashlights in everyones eyes, and throw anyone who's eyes don't react into prison for using drugs even without a blood test. America makes up for that with the ludicrous length of our sentences - there are people serving life without parole sentences for drugs in the US. Then there's Singapore, which has the death penalty drugs.

All three nations are the antithesis of liberty in the developed world.

This is 3ds arm:

addiction is a medical problem

besides, is not methadone a better substitute for heroin

here is my take on sensible recreational drug laws:

selling to a minor

operating machinery under the influence

sentence enhancement for committing a felony under the influence

I don't agree with the third one. It doesn't make sense to ENHANCE a penalty because someone has their senses impaired. Then it would be the fault of the drug, and not them, and if you have a problem with the drug you should ban it.

they chose to take the drug

i think that all drugs should be available to adults, but they have to take responsibility for their actions

it is irresponsible adults that make life difficult - like me:)

everyone gets to make choices, but it is the responsibility part that sucks for us grown up kids...

i will admit that i support restrictions on weapons of mass destruction...after the population problem is solved that is

Everyone who took the drug had the same INTENT. If your argument is that taking will cause you to commit a crime, then everyone who takes the drug has done exactly the same amount of wrong and committed the same amount of intent. It doesn't make sense to punish only when the same chance that everyone took comes to fruition whenever everyone took that chance, as taking the chance was the only wrong thing anyone did.

sorry, i can not agree with you on this

if you chose to take a perception altering substance (recreational or prescription) and do not take precautions (say designated driver or someone to watch over you (say if you take something like LSD)) then you are a fool and are responsible for your actions

for example, i take a number of prescriptions most of which recommend neither ingesting alcohol nor operating machinery - if i ignore that advise and do not take precautions then any harm that i do is my own fault

If you choose to take a drug that could possibly make you hurt someone you are in the wrong and should be punished for taking a chance that you may hurt someone whether or not you actually do.

If you think it's OK as long as you take precautions, what do you say of the people who took precautions that failed? Your logic is illogical.
