Anybody excited about this college football season?

Late starts, only intraleague play, games cancelled due to depleted rosters from Covid infections, 25% max capacity in the stands, star players on sidelines due to infection.
Sure, there will be a CFP. But I can't arouse my usual enthusiasm.
At least the Masters golf is this week.

We need our Buckeyes....so, yes.... We make it work here....
Pretty Strange, though...I agree;)
Any predictions for the Masters?

Sure, always nice to see a number one fall like we did last Saturday, or schools as BYU, Indiana, or even a Liberty do so well, that represents college football better than same the top six money schools competing every year for a championship

It's probably a little harder on me as an LSU fan. I knew there would be a let down this yr. after one of the greatest seasons ever in '19. I didn't expect them to fall this far. Probably better for my health and marriage though. Way too much beer guzzling during those games last season.
I'd like to see a new, as in first time, team win the NC. That might get my pulse past 60 watching CF this yr.

DJ is back to playing good again. He's gotta be a favorite. No predictions, though. Golf is too transient for a guy that happens to be in the zone and someone who's lost it.

I was historically a ND hater but actually found myself pulling for them. Smart for them to join the ACC, that independent status was killing them.
I don't see them winning a rematch in the ACC championship though.

I understand....believe me, we hold our breath every week...and will continue to.... Just pray for someone to beat Alabama.....But, then, I'm not sure there should even be a NC game this year....I'll check with the family PGA pro to see what he says about the Master's winner.... I just watch....

I'm hoping for a Wisc., OSU rematch. Auburn played lights out against LSU last week. If they're that good they could beat Bama again. I don't see anyone else giving Bama serious concern in the SEC.
Good to see Joe playing well for the Bengals.

Yeah he reconnected Ohio with Louisiana. Hope he learned some culinary skills during his stay there. You'd love crawfish if prepared correctly. Might be too spicy though.
Ulysses S. Grant was president of LSU.

This season will have an asterisk behind it. Just a show for the NFL scouts. It won't have the same feeling of euphoria for the Natl. Champion.

I was so happy to see him shine...and have a team/fans who loved and appreciated him.... I love crawfish...we can get them here....live in season, frozen now....
I can do some serious gumbo and boil....;)

Well, too much Terrapin 'Rona:( So the game is cancelled...

I think Uialelei showed he's not much of a downgrade from Lawrence, but, Book will have to become the first QB not to regress under Kelley if there's any hope of winning the rematch.

I always assumed we were headed for the B1G, rather than the ACC. At least there's established rivalries with Miami and FSU, even though they aren't as legendary as UM/MSU.

If I am not mistaken, Notre Dame football didn't join the ACC, but rather is only in the conference this year because of Covid

I never understood why the ACC, the old Big East before, let Notre Dame to join the conference without having their football program as part of the deal

Yes, we go back to independent status unless a deal is struck. It was obviously a step, as they knew ND values football and hockey above all else. In fact, hockey officially joined the B1G, so, that's weird.

Notre Dame will never join a conference for football, largely cause they don't have to, their revenue stream would only suffer if they did. If they ever did, think the thought was the Big Ten, but the ACC would be a better fit, the only big five conference with a number of private schools

Can't say I know what the "B1G" is, but I can't think of any conference that has a hockey component, or at least famous for hockey, perhaps the Ivy League, kinda like lacrosse, where many of the best teams in the country aren't associated with a conference

It's just the silly logo of the Big 10. But, it looks cool, so, I use it.
