Your candidate just said he was going to "renegotiate homeowner mortgages" and give them a 40-60% decrease in their mortages.

How do you feel now you stupid dumb fucking socialist hicks?
 
Doesn't the bailout bill give Treasury the ability to do just this?
Are we going to buy the bad debt on these mortgages AND pay off the mortgage and give people a NEW Mortgage?

Yes, that is how I understood it, that it gives Paulson the power to do that, but he has not done it yet. But it has been discussed, and is not a new idea....and yet no one on the news seems to have heard of it before? So then I thought, well, maybe I am confused, I don't know.

You people are so ridiculously vindictive that you'd take down the entire economy just to hurt people you feel were irresponsible. That's what's wrong with America. Socialism, despite all its faults, is a thousand times better a policy than vindictiveness to run a country by.

Gee....a Republican has the opportunity to bail out wall street or help Joe six pack. To them the former is a rescue plan and the later is creeping socialism.
 
But seriously its what should happen and the best way for the govt to get some value out of the defaulting mortgages they now own. If someones got some crappy 5year ARM on a house they cant afford stick them in at 40year 6% fixed loan.

I would never take a govt loan however. Wouldnt want the mortgage company (ie the govt) knowing what my tax returns were or having an arm that could dock my paycheck.

Nahh its all a numbers game. The note on the mortgage will not be cut. What will happen is say for someone like me who has a 15year mortgage that runs me 2700 a month. I could refinance out to 40years at say 6% and would cost me 1500 a month.

But luckily I dont need to do that and my house will be paid off within 10years. But if i lost my job and for some reason couldnt get a new job then sure id take it.
 
The world is constantly trending towards liberal ideas.

I am not a socialist and dont want a solcialist world.

I want a free market society with some social programs to protect all peoples basic needs and Good solid regulation to prevent the monied interests from owning the lives of the the majority of the population.

Conservatives seem to want nothing to improve because they hate certain words.
