I would ask, this question: Assist how? Simply registering them to vote? I have no problem. Helping them fill out registration forms? Nah. To easy to get partisan groups to pressure or even mark the ballot to put the person in a particular party. Assisting persons to evade legal restrictions on registration? Definitely a big NO!
