Auschwitz Memorial criticizes Fox News' Greg Gutfeld for saying Jews survived nazi

In a statement to NBC News, White House spokesman Andrew Bates said in part: "What Fox News allowed to be said on their air yesterday — and has so far failed to condemn — is an obscenity."

"In defending a horrid, dangerous, extreme lie that insults the memory of the millions of Americans who suffered from the evil of enslavement, a Fox News host told another horrid, dangerous and extreme lie that insults the memory of the millions of people who suffered from the evils of the Holocaust," Bates said. "Let’s get something straight that the American people understand full well and that is not complicated: there was nothing good about slavery; there was nothing good about the Holocaust. Full stop."
 
Most did.

If you could work then the Nazi's typically didn't exterminate you.

They were using slave labor in force especially during the later years of the war.

Gutfeld never said it was good, he was making an historical fact.

What he said was true.

Those that were useful to the Nazi's survived longer.

No one is saying they enjoyed it.
 
Gutfeld completely misrepresented what Frankl wrote. Frankl wrote that some prisoners developed the will to persevere and survive in the atrocious conditions because they felt an obligation to someone or some cause. They would fight for survival because they thought that they are needed for their family members, because they still have historical or scientific knowledge that needs to be shared with humanity, etc. Not because they were useful to their captors.

Gutfeld's claim sounds especially horrible because it implies that the millions who were killed were "useless".
 
Truth is an obscenity when it runs counter to the Regime's claims. There will be no disturbances of the Solidarity.

Saying Jews survived the Holocaust because they were useful is about as repugnant as claiming E Jean Carroll enjoyed being raped.
