Auto racing has been going green for years. NASCAR mandates 15% ethanol in it's fuel, Indycars, run on ethanol, and F1 cars are required to have kinetic energy recovery systems to help power the cars. The effect of racing on emissions in the environment against everyday traffic is negligible. Okay, drag racing is a culprit but ahh, the smell of rubber and nitro in the air is well worth it!
