On Wednesday, President Donald Trump announced the US was imposing reciprocal tariffs on a small collection of Antarctic islands that are not inhabited by humans, as part of a global trade war aimed at asserting US dominance. The Heard and McDonald Islands, known for their populations of penguins and seabirds, can only be reached by sea.

Oops. It was Trump imposing tariffs on an uninhabited island while claiming they have a 10% tariff on all imports from US.

How disingenuous is this? The Heard and McDonald islands are part of Australian territory and as such any tariffs placed on Australia would, by extension, hit territories that are Australian. It's like claiming Trump targeted the Falkland Islands or St. Helena, both British territories and subject to the same tariffs as Britain / the UK itself.

Actually, Trump imposed a tariff of 82% on the Falkland Islands and 10% tariff on the UK. Trump also imposed a 15% tariff on St Helena.

You might want to rethink your argument since it only proves you are as delusional as Trump.

Why? What does either import into the US?

Looking it up...

Falkland Islands exports to the US mostly seafood and wool to the tune of 22 million a year.
St. Helena exports almost entirely seafood with a small petroleum component worth about 2.5 million a year.

Neither is significant in any way shape or form in terms of trade.

The Heard Islands export nothing to the US since they are uninhabited. Why have they been singled out for a tariff? You argued because they were part of Australia so they should have the same rate as the rest of Australia.
The Falkland Islands and St Helana are part of the UK empire. Why do they have a different rate than the UK?

Russia exports more to the US than the Falkland Islands and St Helana combined and yet Trump put no tariff on Russia.

What is significant is how Trump's tariffs make absolutely no sense. If Biden had put tariffs on an uninhabited island you would be claiming he had dementia. Those aren't the only uninhabited island to have imposed a tariff by Trump since he also imposed a tariff of 10% on an uninhabited island owned by Norway while Norway has a 20% tariff.

So would you care to provide support for your claim that I was disingenuous by pointing out Trump had imposed a tariff on an uninhabited island? Or are you so far down your rabbit hole you are just waiting for Trump to tell you to drink bleach?

Jan Mayen is uninhabited.
British Indian Ocean Territory only has a joint US/UK military base and no other inhabitants.

Doesn't change what I stated earlier. They are part of Australia. If Trump targeted them separately, it's likely just being thorough and covering bases because they are part of Australia.

Unless you are a complete idiot, it clearly shows that Trump imposed a tariff on Heard and McDonald Islands after claiming that those islands were imposing tariffs on US imports.

Then you should look up Jan Mayen and British Indian Ocean Territory to see what they are.
