Obama Adviser Calls for 60,000-80,000 U.S. Troops To Stay in Iraq Through 2010!!

WASHINGTON — A key adviser to Senator Obama's campaign is recommending in a confidential paper that America keep between 60,000 and 80,000 troops in Iraq as of late 2010, a plan at odds with the public pledge of the Illinois senator to withdraw combat forces from Iraq within 16 months of taking office.

The paper, obtained by The New York Sun, was written by Colin Kahl for the center-left Center for a New American Security. In "Stay on Success: A Policy of Conditional Engagement," Mr. Kahl writes that through negotiations with the Iraqi government "the U.S. should aim to transition to a sustainable over-watch posture (of perhaps 60,000–80,000 forces) by the end of 2010 (although the specific timelines should be the byproduct of negotiations and conditions on the ground)."

Mr. Kahl is the day-to-day coordinator of the Obama campaign's working group on Iraq. A shorter and less detailed version of this paper appeared on the center's Web site as a policy brief.

(Hey, Liberals! What HAPPENED, Haaahahahaha!!! I thought the White-Hating, Anti-American, Ultra-Liberal Socialist/Collectivist Obama, after having all you intellectually-challenged Liberals Hypnotized (just look at my shiny teeth.....just repeat the words..Hope....Hope....Change...Change.., and THAT will FIX all of your PROBLEMS!), never MIND that he's never been Cheif Executive of a Dunkin' Donuts, let alone the Most POWERFUL NATION ON EARTH!, Haha! I thought he had you all hypnotized into believing his bullshit, that he was going to "Send All the Troops Home!" Yeah, right! We've been TELLING YOU, but you WOULDN'T LISTEN! There is NO ONE, I don't care HOW Socialist/Liberal, that's going to pull all our troops out, in less that a multi-year phased withdrawal. Because FIRST, it would make the U.S. look like LOSERS, which we CANNOT afford. Two, it would bring TOTAL CHAOS to Iraq, and give Iran, Syria, Hezbolla, Hamas, and all the OTHER Psych, Camel-Humping Nutjobs over there a Licence to Kill, Maim, Torture, Behead, etc, on an hourly basis. Too bad Liberals Socialists, like Obama, Howard Dean, and most of the Democrat Party, are TOO STUPID AND NAIVE TO UNDERSTAND THAT, Haaha!)

This is not the first time the opinion of an adviser to the Obama campaign has differed with the candidate's stated Iraq policy. In February, Mr. Obama's first foreign policy tutor, Samantha Power, told BBC that the senator's current Iraq plan would likely change based on the advice of military commanders in 2009. She has since resigned her position as a formal adviser.

The political ramifications of the disclosure are yet to be seen. The perception of a harder line in Iraq could help Mr. Obama combat charges by Senator McCain in a general election that Mr. Obama favors a hasty surrender and retreat in Iraq. But it could hurt the Obama campaign with anti-war voters in the Democratic primaries. Mr. Obama's rival for the Democratic nomination, Senator Clinton, has called for withdrawing troops from Iraq, but an architect of the surge has told the Sun that she has been wary of a precipitous withdrawal. In a situation with some parallels to this one, Mr. Obama suffered some political damage on the trade issue when he called publicly for a renegotiation of NAFTA while a policy adviser reportedly met with Canadian officials and downplayed the chances of a NAFTA retreat. In an interview yesterday, a senior Obama foreign affairs adviser, Susan Rice, said the Iraq working group is not the last word on the campaign's Iraq policy.

Teachers Indoctrinate Kids about Global Warming

Published 03/28/2008 - 7:30 a.m. GMT ABOUT THE AUTHOR

(PressMediaWire) Los Angeles, CA (March 28, 2008) -- A shocking news report has revealed how public school teachers are indoctrinating kids about global warming, and that's disturbing to Holly Fretwell, natural resources allocation expert and author of The Sky's NOT Falling: Why It's OK To Chill About Global Warming (ISBN 0976726947, Kids Ahead, for ages 8-up, September 2007). Says Fretwell, "Kids are getting a nearful at school about global warming, and too much of that information is misleading or just plain wrong."

Letters sent from a school in Wildomar, CA to the Heartland Institute as reported in The American Chronicle provide a perfect example. Heartland recently sponsored a conference attended by scientists and economists skeptical of the UN's scientifically questionable pronouncements on global warming. Apparently this exercise in free speech was too much for 6th grade teacher Michael Steria. Notes Fretwell, herself a teacher and mother of two, "The kids wrote angry letters to Heartland based on 10 articles they read. It appears that none of those articles dealt with the science of global warming."

Instead, the articles presented far-fetched scenarios as truth. These sixth graders now believe that global warming will kill all living things within ten years, and that organizations such as Heartland are to blame…

Fretwell wrote The Sky's Not Falling: Why It's OK to Chill About Global Warming to provide kids with a balanced view of today's environmental challenges, one based on science, not science fiction. "We don’t have good evidence or good answers for the changing temperatures on earth. We do know they have been changing for hundreds of thousands of years, long before humans played a role." Sky presents the facts and encourages kids to think for themselves.

As an educator, a mom and an optimist, the author of The Sky's Not Falling envisions a world that is wealthier, and so healthier for all. To get there, however, our kids need to become critical thinkers. And as the letters from David A. Brown Middle School demonstrate, too much of what is passing for "truth" when it comes to the issue of global warming is anything but.

So his advisor's recommendation would only be at most 8 months longer? You do know that 16 months from taking office will be April of 2010? Right?
