Wall Street Journal today, Ronald Kessler: "'Obama and the Minister.' -- In a sermon delivered at Howard University, Barack Obama's longtime minister, friend and adviser blamed America for starting the AIDS virus, training professional killers, importing drugs and creating a racist society that would never elect a black candidate president. The Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr., pastor of Mr. Obama's Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago, gave the sermon at the school's Andrew Rankin Memorial Chapel in Washington on Jan. 15, 2006. 'We've got more black men in prison than there are in college,' he began. 'Racism is alive and well. Racism is how this country was founded and how this country is still run. No black man will ever be considered for president, no matter how hard you run Jesse [Jackson] and no black woman can ever be considered for anything outside what she can give with her body.'" That's two years ago. "Mr. Wright thundered on: 'America is still the No. 1 killer in the world. ... We are deeply involved in the importing of drugs, the exporting of guns, and the training of professional killers ... We bombed Cambodia, Iraq and Nicaragua, killing women and children while trying to get public opinion turned against Castro and Ghadhafi ... We put [Nelson] Mandela in prison and supported apartheid the whole 27 years he was there. We believe in white supremacy and black inferiority and believe it more than we believe in God.' His voice rising, Mr. Wright said, 'We supported Zionism shamelessly while ignoring the Palestinians and branding anybody who spoke out against it as being anti-Semitic. ... We care nothing about human life if the end justifies the means...' Concluding, Mr. Wright said: 'We started the AIDS virus ... We are only able to maintain our level of living by making sure that Third World people live in grinding poverty...

seriously.. the only people who care about this minister are the republicans who arent going to vote for him anyways.

I think it's hilarious that the Wall Street Journal op-ed page has sunk so low to have a NewsMax guy getting his screeds published there.

Ugh, I know that op-ed page is horrendous but Christ on Crutches that's bad. Then again I suppose it's no worse that the NYTimes letting Bill Kristol do the same thing on the op-ed page of the paper of record. In fact, if I recall correctly it was Keesler's mistakes on NewsMax that Kristol regurgitated in the NYTimes. Liberal media and all.

"When asked to respond, Obama noted that he disagreed with Wright's comments and stated, "Here is what happens when you just cherry-pick statements from a guy who had a 40-year career as a pastor. There are times when people say things that are just wrong. But I think it's important to judge me on what I've said in the past and what I believe."[23] Obama has also stated that Wright "is like an old uncle who says things I don't always agree with."[24]

On his comments about 9/11, Obama has said[13]:

“The violence of 9/11 was inexcusable and without justification.,,. It sounds like he was trying to be provocative. ...Reverend Wright is a child of the 60s, and he often expresses himself in that language of concern with institutional racism and the struggles the African-American community has gone through,.... He analyzes public events in the context of race. I tend to look at them through the context of social justice and inequality.”
On March 14, 2008, Obama wrote an article for the Huffington Post website entitled On My Faith and My Church in which he said the following:

Let me say at the outset that I vehemently disagree and strongly condemn the statements that have been the subject of this controversy. I categorically denounce any statement that disparages our great country or serves to divide us from our allies. I also believe that words that degrade individuals have no place in our public dialogue, whether it's on the campaign stump or in the pulpit. In sum, I reject outright the statements by Rev. Wright that are at issue.[25]"

Obama is the MAN. He comes out of this looking great... They try to attack him by proxy and he is up to the task. He can be friendly with someone while still not agreeing with everything he says. Thats the type of person we need as the American president.

hillary camp working with the republicans now.. Maybe she will switch parties to get elected like Lieberman did.

BTW - For the good Rev's information. There are more Black men in College than in Prison.

I'm surprised he has so little expectation of Black men.

Yeah, Right, Blah, blah, blah. We've heard all these "dodges" before. With Bill Clinton. With Al Sharpton. With Jesse Jackson. Any time an Ultra-Left Socialist gets caught with his hand in the Socialism, Redistribution of Wealth, or Rabid Anti-American(and in THIS case, Rabid Anti-White) cookie jar, they say, "Well, I didn't KNOW!, or I didn't SEE!, or I didn't HEAR!". Bullshit.

I don't care HOW much Barack tries the "Old Crazy Uncle" bit, NO ONE believes a Grown Man, for TWENTY YEARS, in a church he Attends Regularlty, was MARRIED, does not "KNOW", or "HEARD" this VILE ANTI-WITE, ANTI-AMERICAN RACISM, and AGREESwith it. He is DAMAGED GREATLY, and Michelle's salary going from 112,000 to 328,000 RIGHT AFTER Barack's Senate election, and VOTE to give Michelle's University Hospital a ONE MILLION DOLLAR "GIFT" needs a FULL SENATE INVESTIGATION. Just like Democrats always say "Even the APPEARANCE of Impropriety need an investigation." So let's start investigatin'! Haaaaahahaha!

Oh, and also- Are you Obama Zombies, who say this is some "mistake", are you saying the the Racist Reverend DID NOT SAY the above quotes? Because I have HEARD, along with Millions of others, an AUDIO TRANSCRIPT of the Racist Reverend sayinf the SAME THING, on OTHER occasions!

He is an idiot, whos whole stick is taken from him once a "black man" has been elected president.

The worst thing you can do to this guy and people like him is to elect Barak Obama president. There whole set up and the assumptions they are based upon will be down the toilet.

People like him would find the way to complain anyway. People who think complaining and stereotyping is the answer never get past that. It's like Christians believing they are persecuted against in this nation because somebody puts an X in front of Christmas.

Agreed, but his creditability would be shot. When Barak Obama is the popularly elected president... it will be less profitable and creditable to scream racism at every turn.

It is not reason enough to elect Barack to just get back at this racist that Barack supported with his membership and valued.

Yeah, because if one black guy is elected president it means that racism is extinct.

You're an idiot and largely unreadable lately.

Thats true, there are plenty of better reasons, but it would be a great benefit.

This is silly projection. Stating that this one reason wouldn't be enough to elect Obama is somehow "stupid" is plain silly ideological messianic belief without regard to the statement in itself.

Getting back at this guy is not reason enough to vote for anybody, it would be a stupid reason to vote for somebody.

And I find all the people who are part of the US of KKK A protecting the person who gave them their membership card to protect the candidate who went to the church ridiculous. At least Obama understands that the remarks are unsupportable and is attempting to back away. It is your protection of the guy that keeps pushing them together in people's minds.
