What kind of half-assed board is this? I figured there would be at least ONE thread on the biggest news of the past 8 years! Bush has agreed on a withdrawal of US forces from Iraq. Yep, that's right Pinheads, the war is almost over, and you won't have the issue to pound McCain with in November... Awwwwwwww! Darnit!

Now, he didn't give a timetable or date, because, well... if he did that, the alQaeda thugs would just keep their powder dry and circle that date in red on their calendars. Iraq doesn't need that kind of nightmare, so no specific date was given, but the groundwork and plan for exit is in place and agreed to by both parties, so it is simply a matter of time now.

So... without the Iraq War issue, looks like your black activist half-muslim liberal socialist will have to run on his ideology, which should be very interesting.

So what stops the thugs from keeping their powder dry and waiting for the inevitable anyway? Everyone knows that the Iraqi people DON'T want us there for 100 years. They don't want us there for another 5 years. Malaki is now saying sometime in 2010 would be his government's preference. McCain has backed off now and said withdrawl would be up to Patraeus, who by the way is NOT a democratically elected member of the Iraqi goverment. The Iraqi's want us out, and in a time much more in line with Obama's plan than Bush/McCain. So the thugs can wait it out, keep their powder dry and do their thing when were gone whether or not there is a date circled on some calander. That argument ain't getting it done.
