Actually, I would have stuck with Indians,

but if I did wimp out to political correctness, not that I would,

I would have chosen Spiders which has historical relevance in Cleveland baseball.

In fairness, Owl, you're not a devoted baseball fan for about seventy years.
Indigenous Americans who complained about that name had too much time on their hands.

If the Boston Red Red Sox had been named the North End Dagos since 1901, I would not only be cool with it but even proud.

How about the Notre Dame [French, obviously] Fighting Irish?

I have not been to a ballgame in five years, and likely will never go again....I have given up on pro-sports.......but that is not the point.

The Indians are one of only four original American League teams remaining.

They, my Red Sox, the Tigers, and the White Sox are the only charter member clubs that go back to the 1901 league formation.
Not even the Yankees [1903].
