Conservatives

What do you think of conservatives?

  • Total voters

There are no Conservatives in North Korea, people risk their life to get out.
There are a high percentage of Conservatives in America, people risk their life to get in.
Hmmm...

Just out of interest, what is the political orientation of the population of North Korea?

Communist. Socialist. You know the People's Republic.

I hear you are enjoying your record cold over there.

I just thought that seeing as they're living in a totalitarian dictatorship they might not support the politics of their non-elected leaders. But as nobody is allowed to talk to them though, who knows?

It is cold but nothing special. Just because London saw some snow they're all moaning about it but us northern folk are made out of hardier stuff, don't you know?

You know, I've always thought that the colder people get, the more left-wing they get. I mean, look at your southern England, and then at Scotland, and then at Sweden. Then take a look down at barbaric America. Pretty good theorem huh?

What about Alaska?

It's a fair point. I'd hazard a guess that Conservative (business or religious) people would have been more likely to leave/flee and/or be exterminated so I tend to think that the leftwing totalitarianism is somewhat accurate among the populace, especially after decades of being conditioned to it.

I know what you mean, I remember a friend of mine went south on a business trip to Atlanta one year and they got the tiniest bit of snow and shut down a lot.

Hey, I've also thought that. I think with colder climates you had to survive more as a group (ie: it's a lot of work in older times to heat individual homes, so you stay in a group with the cold and more body heat). So the instincts continue to this day. At least that's my theory.

It's also a warning as to why leftwing policies would not just be taken and tolerated in America were you to try and model after Scandinavia.

And Alaska is somewhat communal, they do resource sharing.

plus the middle east is really warm and they are ass backwards.

Although cuba is pretty warm. You may need to tweak the theory a bit.

I find it funny how you've learned to auto-ignore my mandatory angry comment about conservatives every post.

But it is true, the most left-wing countries are all in northern Europe. As you get lower to Germany they get slightly more right-wing, and then Switzerland, which is probably the most right-wing country in Europe. Britain is also pretty right-wing, and they get a lot of warm wing blowing from the Gulf Stream, and the most right-wing parts of the country are all in the south, and the Conservative party struggles in the north and pretty much doesn't exist in Scotland. Then you get to the US, which is the most right-wing country in the developed world, besides Singapore, which actually resides almost on the equator. Mexico is more left-wing than the US, but I don't think it's a good comparison to compare non-developed to developed nations. And again, the most left-wing areas of America are all in the north, and the most right-wing are in the south.

Besides Hawaii, which is probably the most left-wing state besides Massachusetts.

And of course there are outliers like Alaska and Hawaii, but it is pretty bizarre how uniform the correlation between climate and political ideology is.

Cuba is a non-developed nation. The aren't exactly left-wing in the way that we think about it either. Sure they've rounded up all the property and given it to the government, which is the crazy-ass extremism of left-wing policy, but they also pretty much don't care about human rights.

You missed a choice "Protecters of Traditonal and Moral Values and overall better than Liberals"
