Cool Arab-American Woman on Al-Jazeera...

Has she been shot yet?
Now, now . . . don't be hatin'.

Most muslims are not and have never been Islamists. This woman's appearance on Al Jazeera isn't particularly surprising. Interesting -- and welcome -- but not surprising.

Al-Jazeera is more of a traditional, conservative, anti-American network...

Al-Arabia is more pro-western, and its stations are often bombed because of this. Still, it's a violent place. Whenever she said she was an atheist, did you see that man's reaction? He wouldn't even listen to her anymore, and called her a herectic. In no place in the western, hell, not even in Mississippi, world you see that kind of stuff, but it's commonplace in the Arab world.

I think she is wrong. She states it is a battle between a mentality belonging to the middle-ages and one belonging to now.

This is bollocks. We have two brutal mentalities going at each other, neither belonging to the C21st.

Brutality dressed in a sharp suit is still brutality.

Alright, that's fair enough. And you're right: her actual thesis is pretty ugly, once you get past the facade.

It's so rare, though, for an American to see any Muslim speaking out against the Islamists that I'm willing to grasp at any straw, as it were. We don't see them because we're told not to see them, of course.

It is good she speaks against Islamic fundamentalism, though to, as its trial, compare it against Western ideologies is deeply flawed.

Both Islam and the west are deeply in need of a new enlightenment...

Yes, we need to complete the enlightenment ideals of the 18th century that were overrun by socialism and fundamentalism of the 19th and never had a chance to be fully implemented.

He spoke the truth then. And this is a friendly reminder to all of you to stay off meth. Seriously.

?????....what a strange statement.....it would be valid to say most Muslim's aren't extremists, or fundamentalists, or radicals.....but obviously every Muslim is an Islamist.....

Check your terms, PMP. Every Muslim is Islamic, but Islamist refers to fundamentalists who wish to spread the faith via radical measures.
