If big business would care as much about this country and its people as they do about making money then I wlecome them.

I don't think the Republicans are going to emerge from this. They will still exist in the south, of course, but even then they'll be vulnerable to moderate Democrats. In the northeast a party to the left of the Democrats is likely to emerge and become a dominant force before the Republicans reemerge. One day, the Democrats may very well be the preeminent center-right party in the nation, and the Republicans just a fringe party.
