Jerome Powell, chairman of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, testified to the screwing with the economy as the Biden Administration's attempt to deal with the inflation they were causing. Somehow, increasing unemployment and other leechings were supposed to solve economic difficulties.
Note the weasel-wording replacement of "(intentionally) increase unemployment" with "realign supply and demand" for the purpose of "cooling the economy off" to "restore price stability."
