The electorate wants change, they are mad as hell at the hard core conservative.

The same group that has come out hating McCain.

If you want to win as a Republican this time, you must appear to come from outside the Conservative establishment!

WOW, thats what McCain is doing!

People like Glen Beck want to lose this time.

They think it will save their party.

They believe in party over country .

They think that the country will benefit from saving their party. It isn't "party over nation", it is quite the opposite.

Not quite right. But they do at least BELIEVE in country, unlike the globalist elements trying sucker conservatives into their bullshit by making it a "business argument".

Too late the globalist elements have control of the republicans and almost have control of the demoncrats as well.

Conservatives don't get it.

There does indeed appear to be critical evidence of a lack of intellectualism among those who believe in conservatism.

I don't say that simply to slight or offend .. there is real evidence this is true.

They seem completely incapable of adapting to a changing world. Life for them appears rooted 200 years in the past.

The world is smaller and colonialism is dead.

"Conservative" is such an umbrella term it's hard to discuss without going issue by issue. Some say conservative means full globalization to the detriment of american citizens, some say conservatism mean perpetual war and nation building.

Colonialism may be dead, but is self defense and national sovereignty dead?

I do wonder about national sovereignty being dead, we did invade and are still occupying a sovern nation.

And on the defense aspect we seem to be determined to deny other countries weapons that we posess.
I guess issue is whose sovereignty and defense are we speaking of ?

exactly. Paranoid internationalist fascism is not conservatism. The whole ideology has been perverted by power mongers.

For instance usc, you are a conservative, but the current ideological gatekeepers of the parties have perverted everything so much that you're in the same party as the socialists.

I am only in any party for KY voting rules purposes.

And yes I would describe myself as a humaistic conservative.

Perhaps and I shudder to use the phrase, a true Compassionate conservative ?

I don't know what is wrong with being a compassionate conservative. I kind of look at myself in that way. I take issue with Bush on the war, on his so called "targeted" tax cuts and some other things. I really don't believe that he has demonstrated true compassionate conservatism so I am not ashamed to call myself that.

There's nothing wrong with compassion, it's just that the party that CALLS itself conservative is actually a front for internationalist noahide fascists.

Nothing at all wrong with being a truely compassionte conservative. and I do consider you to be one. But the term has been sooo misused.

I do not see how anyone could be a true christian and a conservative and not be a compassionate conservative.
