Does House Speaker Nanci Pelosi Dodge Tough Question on Health Care??? You decide.

That's their standard line, that some folks have been milking the system by not paying for it. What they may not realize is that many of these folks are also Democrats...

It's quite amuzing, in a sad sort of way. Her complaint is that some people (ie: those currently not covered by health insurance?) end up pushing their medicals debts of on those who do pay. So her answer? A bill that makes people pay for health insurance so they can subsidize other people to buy health insurance. Umm, isn't that STILL shoving the bill onto us, but with Jolly Government adding to the interchange?

And it is quite apparent she is NOT willing to admit the bill provides for criminal actions against people who do not buy health insurance, even though she specified that requirement.

So democrats are OK with creating an entire new criminal class in order to promote their health care "reform" plan?

Hope they plan to build a whole lot of new jails. Because a whole bunch of people are waiting and willing to exercise the time honored method of civil disobedience against this plan if it passes.

Obviously there has to be penalties, otherwise, why would anyone obey any law?
Originally the idea was to fine (back handed tax) those who do not obtain a health insurance plan. Adding jail time, with associated criminal history is going WAY around the bend.

Though I am not surprised to see the tell tale signs of how the modern left TRULY views personal liberty. Do it their way, or be labeled a criminal.

Somehow being labeled unpatriotic for opposing the war (bad as it was) seems so pale in comparison.

What happens when one does not pay a fine? People go to jail if they park their car in the wrong place and do not pay their fine (parking ticket). Surely parking for 3 hours in a 2-hour parking space is not as serious as not having medical coverage.

Jail time is most likely reserved for folks who consciously decide not to pay.
