Duopoly Primaries and Conventions Fleecing The Taxpayers

Here’s some information about how the duopoly Democrat and Republican BIG government are fleecing the taxpayers with their primary elections and conventions.

Estimates suggest over $400 million was spent by taxpayers in 2012 to fund primary elections alone; tax dollars that come from voters who the parties actively prevent from participating in the process. In closed and semi-closed primary states, only voters who affiliate with a particular political party can vote in the primary.

Conventions cost federal taxpayers as much as $136 million.

Federal taxpayers could be on the hook for more than $136 million to cover the cost of the major political parties’ presidential nominating conventions.

That’s the estimated total taxpayer tab for the Republican Party National Convention and the Democratic Party National Convention.

The Democratic National Committee has just announced a proposal to have taxpayers come up with the $15 to $20 million they still need to hold next summer’s nominating convention.

The move comes from DNC Chairwoman and Florida Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, just one year after Congress voted to redirect previous convention funding to the research of childhood diseases.

By contrast, the Republican National Committee has said it doesn’t need tax dollars for its convention next year, nor does it support such funding.

so

now you hate elections?

I hate political parties. Let the bastards pay for their own primaries and conventions to select their egotistical authoritarian fuck ups. I don't want a nickle of my tax money going to the Democrat and Republican BIG government duopoly dictatorship.
