Funny how words are.

were the word creators were maybe trying to discourage starting new businesses?

they called it Entering poverty.

that's often true.

but still, go for it if you can,

but heed the warnings implicit in the language.

It really is not. It is a French word for someone who undertakes a project. It has a similar meaning to the English word adventurer.
entre penury.

new words are created using other words.

there is truth in this origin story.

you're just an idiot who doesn't appreciate meaningful insights or deep thought.

What is the root of the word entrepreneur?

Entrepreneur is derived from two Latin words, “entre”, which means to swim out, and “prendes,” which means to grasp or grab hold of. Entrepreneur can be traced back to France in the 1700s; at that time it was a term used to describe a promoter, particularly one involved in theatre.

I am wrong. but my version was better and more fun.
