Fani Willis faces nothing but setbacks in case against Trump, the latest pending with Supreme Court​

District Attorney Fani Willis had high hopes to take former President Trump to trial before the November election, but with the latest court decision on her scandalous relationship with a special prosecutor, that prospect has never appeared slimmer.

Willis was accused in February of having an "improper" affair with special prosecutor Nathan Wade, whom she had hired to help prosecutor the sweeping racketeering case against the former president.

A decision by Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee not to disqualify her from the case is now on appeal, with that hearing slated for early October. And until then, McAfee can take no action in the electioneering against Trump – including taking any time this summer to decide how the Supreme Court's decisions in the presidential immunity and "obstruction of official proceeding" matters will impact Willis' case.

Legal experts say the scandal could prove disastrous for the case. Clark D. Cunningham, an expert in legal ethics and a law professor at Georgia State University told the New York Times that Willis "just stabbed the case right in the heart."....

From its initial indictment, there was never a chance this case, with so many defendants, was going to court before the election.

That said, it is the prosecutor's job to push and push the system, saying they are ready and want an early court date, knowing that even with that push it will take well over a year, even to seat a jury, just as her other big RICO case did.

The stupidity of the outrage that 'ZOMG a D.A. dated another lawyer in her charge' is just magat food for the perpetual stupid. Yes if a D.A hires a lawyer, and that lawyer buys them a coffee, they are arguably using the funds the D.A gave them to benefit the D.A. There is NO CRIME in that and this whole issue is complete garbage and it will not change anything.

Fani will get this to court in the Spring or Summer of 2025 which is exactly when it would have went to court even without the scandals.

The female lawyer that exposed Fani's illegal relationship with Wade is a Democrat. The State legislature is investigating Fani. When they subpoena her text we are going to find she was seeing Wade long before she swore under oath she did.
