perhaps we can work at the local level and demand that our water providers test for such substances in our water - of course your water will cost more and may not become any healthier...

From what I understand, there is no immediate danger to health. It is something that of course needs to be addressed in a reasonable time period and manner, but I think there may be slightly more important issues to bring under control first.

Well we do not know if it is an immediate threat or not since noting is known about the effects of low levels of pharma in our drinking water. Heck it might be what caused Bush to be elected twice ?
