It is human nature that women are 'wired' to marry UP. That is, women seek men who will improve their own wealth, status, and social position. This isn't new, it's been happening in human society for thousands upon thousands of years. Marry / mate with a rich powerful man because that increases your own position in society and the potential for your offspring to do the same.
There's a term for it even: Hypergamy. Some woman with degrees from Harvard and a Ph D in whatever, sure as shit isn't interested in marrying a janitor with a high school diploma no matter how hot he may be.
The result is that many college educated women end up 'cat ladies' and such, spinsters and cougars who have gotten too old to be attractive to men who aren't even available...
