I'm going to follow the advice of the banner that won't go away and make my first post in the introductions forum if that's what this is.
I started posting before the 2004 election on a site called politics.com until all of the debate moved to a site called fullpolitics.com back when it was still a message board. I really enjoyed the spirited conversations that took place on those sites. I'm sure I'm not the only one here that vividly remembers the Dixie vs. Maineman battles or the ridiculous two-thirds debate. I'm hoping that this community is similar to those in terms of humor and fun but also a place where politics can be debated and issues discussed in an intelligent and honest way. But even if it's not I'm really thrilled that I don't have to submit 50 posts and be approved by some egomaniac to be a part of the club.
I look forward to discussing issues.
