Many years ago when my kids were littles, I babysat for a family with three young kids, who had moved to our area from Texas. The mom was Mexican, born in the U.S. She told me that when they lived in Texas, she had a woman who came up on a bus from Mexico, early every Monday morning, to her home. The woman took care of the three kids, cleaned house, did their (copious) laundry, cooked their meals, and stayed till she took the bus back to Mexico on Friday evening. She was paid a whole $60/week. My client thought nothing of this nor did she consider it exploitation. I'm sure that the woman wasn't illegal, but to my mind she WAS exploited.
