Google acted illegally to maintain a monopoly in online search, a federal judge ruled on Monday, a decision that strikes at the power of big tech companies and that may fundamentally alter the way they do business.

Judge Amit P. Mehta of U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia said Google had abused a monopoly over the search business. The Justice Department and states had sued Google, accusing it of illegally cementing its dominance, in part, by paying other companies, like Apple and Samsung, billions of dollars a year to have Google automatically handle search queries on their smartphones and web browsers.

So the only way to discourage Malevolent players to do this, is to practice Anti-Trust laws.

I do not believe Google is doing anything malevolent, but there are always those that will.

We should go back to the way it used to be, when we had more choices.

I will remain using Google because they GET ME. I am not sure if they are training me, or I am training them, but they meet my needs.
