LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders declared a state of emergency on Friday ahead of the solar eclipse, according to a news release.

Sanders said in the release that she released funds from the Response and Recovery Fund to help commercial carriers transport essentials to customers in the state during the eclipse.

The release said the decision was made out of caution due to the expected increase of visitors to Arkansas “potentially causing hardships.”

“We want to make sure Arkansans and all visitors have an enjoyable experience and come back again and again,” Sanders said in a statement.

The order will allocate $100,000 from the fund to address program and administrative costs and will be managed by the director of the Arkansas Division of Emergency Management..

It completely makes sense, given her understanding of science. Who wouldn't declare a state of emergency if a giant sky dragon was eating the sun? I am sure Sanders and her co-believers will be out with fireworks to try to scare away the giant sky dragon. They will be successful.
 
An eclipse is a cool thing to experience. I was in a total and when it reached 100 percent, it was dark, felt chillier and night animals started coming out in the dark. You can see the corona around the moon's shadow in a way that can only be done in an eclipse. If you go see it, you will likely not be disappointed.

Holy shit! That's ridiculous. Almost as ridiculous as either Huckalie being elected governor.
 
Those skywatchers are nuts, but basically harmless. There are a lot of them, and this is their 20 year reunion. Kinda like PA and the Groundhog Day. They gather like flies on shit to watch a 15 minute naked eye blinding view of the moon in the sky. Then party. Then go home. Afterwards, everything's back to normal. She should have checked the hotel registries to see how much traffic increases will be. Adjust manpower accordingly.
