Harris Reverses Polls in Three Key Battlegrounds

Vice President Kamala Harris leads former President Donald J. Trump in three crucial battleground states, according to new surveys by The New York Times and Siena College, the latest indication of a dramatic reversal in standing for Democrats after President Biden’s departure from the presidential race remade it.

Ms. Harris is ahead of Mr. Trump by four percentage points in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Michigan, 50 percent to 46 percent among likely voters in each state. The surveys were conducted from Aug. 5 to 9.

The polls, some of the first high-quality surveys in those states since Mr. Biden announced he would no longer run for re-election, come after nearly a year of surveys that showed either a tied contest or a slight lead for Mr. Trump over Mr. Biden.

Good...but polls do not count until the poll taken in November. Kamala's best move is to continue to consider herself to be the underdog...and just campaign as much as possible. She will have help from Trump who manages to shove his foot in his mouth every time he opens it to speak.

Probably the reason Trump suddenly decided he wanted to debate.

I've always preferred poll models that use likely voters rather than registered voters, but the polls using registered voters might look slightly different than this one

Politicians have not run on gloom and doom. They run on hope like a "chicken in every pot" or "2 cars in every garage". Trump runs on his petty bitching and imaginary corruption that all hurts poor little Donald. His basic message, besides being selfish and about him, is depressing. I can't wait to get the power to punish all those who were against me. Any judges who did their jobs and found against me will be punished. Can you imagine if the ugly America Trump wants to come to fruition, did? It would be ugly and scary. It would be brutal. It is not America. It is Trumpsylvania. It is hate, retribution, and brutal use of the military and the agencies. It would not be America. We would live in fear of crossing any of Trump's people.
