Oh Dear someone is going to be in big trouble! Do you agree that it should be looked into?

Congressional Democrats are investigating whether leading US oil companies have illegally colluded with one another and with OPEC to inflate prices at the pump, CNN has learned.

Rep. Frank Pallone Jr., the ranking member of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce, sent a letter Tuesday night to ExxonMobil, Chevron, Hess, BP America and three other fossil fuel companies demanding a trove of documents and communications.

“If US oil companies are colluding with each other and foreign cartels to manipulate global oil markets and harm American consumers who then pay more at the pump, Congress and the American people deserve to know,” Pallone, a New Jersey Democrat, wrote in a letter to oil CEOs. The companies have until June 5 to respond to the committee.

America is pumping records amounts of oil and refineries have been running full tilt....the claim is obvious BS.

I was reading a report maybe a year ago re California claiming that the oil companies were driving up prices for profit taking.....not only was that not true....the cause of the problem was the state refusing to allow drilling and the cost of regulation compliance for refineries in the state.

What do you think the period of acquisitions and mergers was about? It was to consolidate into an oligopoly verging on monopoly. Most major industries and shopping is like that. Grocery stores have dwindled down into a few huge ones. Gas and oil are the same. Cable phones, power companies, airlines, and many others have united to loot us all.

He's not chairman of the committee, and will be rightfully ignored.
