Va. businessman offering free hotel rooms in D.C. to disadvantaged Americans to attend Obama's inauguration.

Earl Stafford is giving away the ultimate political vacation. So it's no surprise that the response has been, in his words, "overwhelming."

Stafford, a Virginia businessman, has reserved $1 million worth of rooms at Washington's JW Marriott Hotel, along the Inauguration Day parade route. He plans to offer the rooms, at no charge, to disadvantaged people throughout the country so they can attend President-elect Barack Obama's Jan. 20 celebration.

His money, his choice on how to spend it. Pretty cool idea as far as that sort of thing goes.

LOL

A successful businessman that has extensive contracts with all branches of the military, Homeland Security, and the government, and the libtards are not making a fuss. Oh wait never mind, he is BLACK and this is for the one.

I suppose it's a nice gesture. However, he's looking to give these rooms away to, amongst others, people facing foreclosure.

If that were me, i'd rather just have the money thanks.

IMO it's a ridiculous grand stand play for attention. We have people with REAL financial problems, and this guy's answer is to let them attend a fucking SPEECH?!? It's a damned stupid way to waste money PRETENDING to be a humanitarian.

LOL... I wonder if the 'disadvantaged' will move in and refuse to leave, like the Katrina victims did in the temporary living arrangements made for them after the hurricane? That would be a hoot! :)

Look, whether you voted for him or not, and whether you want to acknowledge it or not, Obama's election and inauguration is groundbreaking and historic.

There are plenty of people who want to see it. If Hillary had been elected, would anyone be surprised that lots of women wanted to see the inauguration?

And blacks that are over 40 remember being 2nd class citizens. The fact they can see "one of their own" being sworn in as President of the United States is a big deal. This guy is paying for rooms so people can do that.

Its not tax payer money. Its not bailout money. It is the PERSONAL money of a guy who wants to help.

Some of you are forever talking about the evils of government interference and that we should let the people take care of themselves. We keep hearing about the freedom to do with your money as you choose.

But now its someone on the other side of the political fence and ya'll want to bad mouth him.

Hypocritical assholes, thats what the lot of you are. Don't like what this guy is doing with HIS money? Tough shit.
