Unforseeable dry air and dust from the Sahara in the upper atmosphere is keeping the storms from forming.

The Sarah air is one of the suspected causes. There others you can read if you want to look for them. It's not difficult to find them. Apparently, it was a combination of climate factors. And yes, sometimes there are surprises in science, too.

What these idiots fail to grasp, is that we're still a few days away from the peak of hurricane season.
The conditions that have been preventing storms from forming in hurricane alley could suddenly disappear.
We still have the rest of September, all of October and into November in which it's possible for multiple major storms to form and make landfall somewhere in the southeastern US or Central America.
