Just got off the phone with Bell Canada

I signed a 3 year contract that ends this Boxing Day.

I told those assholes that I wanted to cancel early and they said it will be $200 to cancel 1 month before your contract ends....

Unbelievable... These assholes are.... I told them that the policy is 20/month for each month before ur contract ends...aka I would be paying $20 extra.

The guy said he never heard of this $20/month policy....

I told him well than, One of us is a liar, and it aint me... And than I hanged up on him.... And than he had the gall to call me back and leave a message at my work....

Fuck all these corporate greed mongers....

So apparently if you sign a 3 year aka 36 month contract you get hit with a 200 early cancellation fee whether you cancel in your first month or your 35th month...

So i called back and spoke to another idiot who promised me he would cancel my contract when it expires on Boxing Day with no cancellation fee....I hope that is true but ill be calling back at least 2x to make sure this new guy didnt lie to me....

Man you cant trust anybody at their word anymore...And you want more private enterprises that dont honour the words on their policies.... Fuck all you libertarians...

Only trust what is in the contract and read the fine print closely.

I had a guy try to screw me once on a early payoff on a mortgage. I had voice taped the whole thing and had him on tape. they backed off.
I voice tape all major business transactions. for personal reference if nothing else.
I seal the origional in an envelope with a notarized statement that it is only to be opened in a court of law. and put it in my safe. the copy I keep out works fine for any dispute so far.

Couldn't be! Doesn't everybody like being called a liar just before somebody hangs up on them? I mean, just like the cook at your favorite restaurant likes being insulted just before you order food.

It is always wise to spice up the service you get on the phone with nastiness, because at the very least they can't pee in your soup.
 
You know the comment this call may be recorded for quality assurance purposes? I was loaned to a quality assurance group for a month one time and all we did was review disputed calls and make decisions based on them.

So in other words, as an angry customer with what they thought was a misunderstanding, the private enterprise gave in to what you wanted.

Hands up from all those who have been angry at government and then government caved and gave you what you wanted.

It doesn't matter when, silly Canadian.

If you insult the cook and the waiter (even if you received bad service) and return to the restaurant later you can expect pee in your soup.

It isn't very wise to insult and berate the people who are your only contact with the company, yet expect excellent service later.

You are like this guy I've known since kindergarten. He gets his tires slashed regularly and can't seem to realize it's because he's a jackass.

Another thing, guess what, there are other companies to go with (presumbaly why you're cancelling to begin with). If I don't like something government does, tough shit, there is no competition and I am stuck with them.

But you were already going to take your business elsewhere, that is why you were calling. The question is whether you paid the rest of your contract out or whether you paid the penalty.

Looks to me like you are paying the rest of your contract out. So all you did was insult a customer service agent. And believe me, you weren't the first one.

Which is fine. So long as you are willing to take the jerk telling you that there is no way to simply pay out the rest of the contract and end up venting on a messageboard about what a "jerk" they were to you before you left.

Pretty soon, if you keep insulting the cooks, it won't matter where you go, there will always be urine in your soup.
