marijuana is inherently bad for you.

therefore the war on drugs must continue.

Two talk show hosts in Panama City have been discussing the case in the early morning hours — and revealing a divide on the right. Burnie Thompson of WYOO, the libertarian, has called Grande “a casualty of the war on drugs” and contended that because marijuana is illegal, Grande felt “compelled” to swallow a bag of it to avoid punishment.

Nonsense, says Doc Washburn on station WFLF. He invited former Congressman Ernest Istook from the Heritage Foundation and Tina Trent, who blogs on crime, to speak about the dangers of marijuana to the user and to society. Trent indicated that Grande had faced probably only a misdemeanor charge; she pointed to studies showing that the illegal drug trade flourishes despite the legality of marijuana in certain states and other countries. And legalizing marijuana will remove the freedom employers now have to test for the judgment-impairing drug.

so the guy choked to death trying to swallow his plastic bag of pot, so drugs are bad, mkay?

frickin moron politicians.

What I find funny, is people who are for smoking marijuana think nothing about inhaling that smoke into their lungs, yet will agree with the commie non smokers that want to TAX the shit out of people who smoke cigarettes that that is dangerous..

must be all them dead brain cells working there..

Lol so is smoking and alcohol and if you pay attention to some drug commercials they're bad for you too with some of their side effects. How lame. Everyone should check out LEAP: Law Enforcement Against Prohibition. They're for legalizing pot and other drugs and everyone is involved in criminal justice in some manner. Some are former U.S. Marshals, some are former undercover narc agents etc. They really convinced me on their side just from their own experiences and they should know. Cocaine used to be legal but was made illegal cause of a social issue not cause it's bad for you.

Huh? Why do you think we commies care about smoking? News flash: all my commie friends and myself included are AGAINST the "war on drugs" and are majorly involved in ending it. What a pathetic comment.

Uh yes hon. Some of us are for legalizing all drugs. I know I am. We're against capitalism moron. Getting rid of the "war on drugs" is one less thing capitalism has. God how pathetic is your comment.

They're calling the business impact from liberalization of marijuana laws the "Green Rush" in areas where dispensaries are opening by the ton. That's great for capitalism.

Now, if only the state was permitted to be a dispenser, then you might have a point, but even now, the recreational substance market in most respects is not a free one.

Just because there is money involved does not make something capitalism. There is also capital in a centralized economic system, it is just not held by private entities.

NO! Marijuana is not bad for you,Besides it my health you have no right in telling me what I can do with my own body. Especially in a land that calls itself Freedom. This isnt a moral issue. It is an issue of freedom of choice.

Marijuana doesn't kill. tobacco does.

I actually want to end the war on drugs for reasons other than just taxes and the federal budget. I want every adult American to be able to choose whether or not to use drugs so that the concept of a meritocracy is more clearly embeded in our society. Thousands of more people at least will die as a result, and I really could care less, but I think that will make us a stronger (and freer) country.

We should make plastic baggies illegal, clearly they are inherently bad for you if you swallow them.

And while were at it lets legalize prostitution. Can you imagine how many high strung anal retentive conservatives would chill out if they could rip on a bong and get a decent hummer?

I have no problem with that. That would get the prostitutes off the street corner into a regulated brothel where things can be controlled.

Possibly. It's hard to tax prostitution, which is why it is illegal vs porn. I'm all for legalizing it though.

Haha yes. And the prostitutes wouldn't have to hide and they'd be able to get properly checked out. Look at Las Vegas. It will erase a lot of problems.

When you can make a profit off something and put man against man that's capitalism. Of course today's capitalism not what it's supposed to be by what's his name (last name Smith) who came up with the ideology. If you told most people his ideals for capitalism he'd be called a commie today. And gangs are private entities and make money off it and become powerful. Take away their money making machine and you'll take away some of their power.
