Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene called for a ban on Kamala Harris in response to the vice president's call for assault weapons to be banned.

Harris, who President Joe Biden asked to lead the first-ever federal Office of Gun Violence Prevention last month, on Monday reiterated a called for Congress to pass an assault weapons ban.

"America needs a ban on communist politicians like you," Greene wrote in response.

Harris spoke about the difficulty of passing an assault weapons ban at an event at the College of Southern Nevada on Thursday, and shared a clip of her remarks on her official X account on Monday.


"But you got a bunch of feckless people who lack courage, who are in the United States Congress, who are pushing a false choice, which suggests you're either in favor of the Second Amendment or you want to take everyone's guns away. And it's a false choice. I'm in favor of the Second Amendment, but we need an assault weapons ban. We need universal background checks. We need red flag laws."
