It's not hard, all we have to do is read the reactionaries responses in the thread about it, then just change the political affiliation.

How's this any different than what labor unions do? Teamsters practically threatens my dad every election to vote Democrat, using exactly the same scare tactics mentioned in that story.

There is a McDonald's character that is the Mayor, Mayor McCheese! It is probably the reference he is making, and not that the guy is the mayor!
