Mrs. McCain says no negative tactics.

How I wish it was going to be true. To bad that the night before she said this he said Hamas supported Obama.

No I think he just checked them personally. Joe assures us everything is where its supposed to be and nice and clean too.

Pfeeesh..

Like the Democrats don't use negative tactics..They invented them..

and Hamas did say they supported Obama..what can you say.

Mrs. McCain said that the upcoming campaign against either Sen. Barack Obama or Sen. Hillary Clinton would not engage in negative tactics.

fair article.

Who is she kidding? Of course the McCain campaign is going to keep up appearances of playing fair.

That's what 527s are for. Plausible deniability. Obama is going to be painted as a racist, radical muslim, militant black christian, gun grabbing socialist. And that's going to be the mellow stuff.

Humm..if the shoe fits..

Can you go get the quote?

At the root of the dispute is McCain's decision to call attention to a Hamas adviser's apparent affinity for Obama. The adviser, Ahmed Yousef, said in a recent interview: "We like Obama and hope that he will win the election."

Can you go get the quote?

During an interview on WABC radio Sunday, top Hamas political adviser Ahmed Yousef said the terrorist group supports Obama’s foreign policy vision.

“We don’t mind–actually we like Mr. Obama. We hope he will (win) the election and I do believe he is like John Kennedy, great man with great principle, and he has a vision to change America to make it in a position to lead the world community but not with domination and arrogance,” Yousef said in response to a question about the group’s willingness to meet with either of the Democratic presidential candidates.

It would be nice if they hold to that pledge. I do believe that Obama is less likely to engage in an extreme of negative tactics considering how Clinton has treated him, and his (relative) lack of negative repsonse to her tactics. When he does criticize, it tends to at least be semi-related to his opponents' stance on issues.

IF (and that is a big "if") the McCain campaign does the same, we may see the cleanest presidential race since Ford v Carter. (which was dirty enough, but practically sterile compared to Kerry v Bush.)

And, sorry to all the democrats screaming about the Hamas quote - it's not an "attack" when a top political advisor from Hamas actually states that the group Hamas hopes Obama wins the presidency. I seriously doubt Obama in any way appreciates such an endorsement, nor (at least to anyone who thinks for themselves) does it mean Obama is in bed with Hamas or any other terrorist group.

Best thing to do is distance play it by stating Obama in now way condones the activities of Hamas regardless of how Hamas views his foreign policy. (Then use THAT lead in to brag about how much better his foreign policy will be for the ME.)
