Nanny state, Deep state merry-go-round

I seem to recall in the last 25 years or so the "conservatives" in American wailing and railing about the "deep state" or the "nanny state" telling Americans what they can't and can do, or how "they" are mounting more surveillance and control over the daily actions of the citizenry. Gun control legislation was a big focal point. Of course, given how gun monkeys abhor thorough background checks, it's going to be real interesting if this crap passed and you have cases of anti-gov't/foreign terrorist/mentally unstable jokers with these permits just running willy nilly pass cops all over the country.

Good times.

But if that isn't enough to keep you up at night, here's what a REPUBLICAN congressman from Kentucky has to say about the vaunted "Real ID".
