Nancy Pelosi wishing she did more, in the heat of the moment, is how responsible adults think. Of course she would wish to have done more.
What that does not mean, is that Trump is absolved for not sending in the National Guard, something only he could initiate.
The ultimate failing of that day was not guessing in advance how bad things would get. I won't hold anyone, including Trump to that, even though Trump very much had the plan to whip it up to become what it did.
No the ultimate failing was the hours delayed response with the National Guard. Even Maryland NG was ready and could have been their hours earlier than the DC guard but Trump made sure those orders were not given to both DC and Maryland guard.
