No Thanks, But Thanks

This doesn't add up. Yesterday, I posted twice and got no Thanks. Yet my data show I got 5 Thanks. These data don't make any sense in my cumulative Thanks, eiher.

Do people actually pay attention to the thanks?

If it helps, some people might have originally (accidentally?) clicked thanks which prompted a notification in your profile, but then fixed their erroneous thanks which, I believe, doesn't cancel the notification.

If the system was running slow this can also lead to a delay between clicking thanks, or unclicking thanks, and it actually registering... which can then lead to multiple clicks and unclicks before the poster decides to be patient and wait for their unclick to register.
