North Hyde sub station burns

The incident comes even after comprehensive upgrades to North Hyde Electricity Substation and Fox West Substation, which had their completion in early 2021. The substations were fitted with new transformers, circuits, and cables thanks to a multi-million-pound investment aimed at enhancing the power capacity and reliability for the local logistical park as well as residential and commercial properties throughout west London.

It appears that we are told nothing about why this happened.

I would also like to know if it is common for airports to not have emergency power to run a day on their own....that seems rather stupid.

Maybe they do have power, maybe that is not the problem, maybe it is because traffic lights would be out so people going to the airport would be "unsafe"......we are talking about London, a place where I heard that parks are closed on windy days to make sure people are not injured by falling tree branches.

There it is. It took you 46 minutes, but you went full fucking mental as soon as you got around to it. I think Jewish alien laser trans drag queens set fire to the substation with their powerful gaze. Then the airport closed because the illuminati forgot to cancel their baby blood drinking at the night's Democratic fundraiser. Oh, and the US made Russia attack Ukraine and now it wants peace, like, so badly, and China is probably doing something about something. We used to be better. Your grapevine has been telling us for one hundred and ten years that everything is getting worse.

You fucking lunatic.

51 intelligence officials have concluded that the fire that shut down Heathrow Airport bears all the hallmarks of a Russian sabotage operation.

(kidding aside, given that it looks like the fire was the result of net-zero lunacy, blaming it on Russia is doubly malevolent)

We’re sorry for the disruption caused by a fire at our North Hyde substation and for the loss of power supplies in the area. Teams have been working around the clock to restore power as soon as possible.Working in partnership with the local network operator SSEN Distribution, the network has been reconfigured to restore all customers impacted, including the ability to resupply the parts of Heathrow airport that are connected to North Hyde. This is an interim solution while we carry out further work at North Hyde to return the substation and our network to normal operation. We are continuing to work closely with all stakeholders to manage this incident, and are focused on returning to normal resilience levels as soon as possible.

10M ago....still zero transparency on what went wrong.

24 hours in and we are still supplied zero information on what the cause of this failure was, or why the airport was not prepared to operate through it, at massive economic costs and harm to people.

Substations handle a lot of energy, so are prone to catch fire. That is more true with substations that are 70 years old.

I would also like to know if it is common for airports to not have emergency power to run a day on their own....that seems rather stupid.
It had emergency power backup, but that was not enough to run everything. To run everything, they would need an entire power station.

The solution here is a smart grid... It would be nice if America were to develop that, so the world would buy from us.

You will always be clueless on late-stage capitalism, Walt.

Are you watching gold? I'm starting to get nervous.

Because of the crazy attempts at adhering to an insane green agenda, the diesel generators were removed and replaced by a biomass solution. It will prove very costly when all the claims for compensation are dealt with. Hopefully some good will come from it as vainglorious politicians might think twice before signing off schemes that are useless all in the name of green hogwash.

It was a rough day. If gold goes up much, or down much, I make money. But it is not doing either.

There are good days, and bad days.
American Eagle gold coins are the only physical gold paying above spot price. I own bars so it could cost me $10,000 or more in a rush sale.

A London Good Delivery gold bar would cost a hundred times that, or are you talking about some sort of mini gold bar?

I keep thinking about getting a few gold coins, and own physical gold. I used to own a few gold ETF stocks. Now I just own options on a gold ETF stock, so a derivative of a derivative of a derivative of gold.

I am not saying you are wrong to own physical gold, but to me it seems like a pain in the neck. I figure that if things really fall apart, I have my skills, education, cleverness, and social contacts to survive. One day, I may regret not having physical gold.

This that has just happened has been rare over the last 100 years of so, leading me to think that this was either terrorism or government neglect.

There is a rumor that the airport could not operate because they had shut down too much of their diesel backup generation for Net Zero....after the airport authority called the so-called climate emergency the worst crisis humanity has ever faced, which is BullShit.

Ya that is the rumor, another is that the super transformers blew because of grid instability, which is all because of so-called green energy.

Starmer should give that useless cunt Ed Milliband the boot as soon as possible. He's truly a walking disaster and the living personification of the Dunning-Kruger effect.
