If there is a nuclear war almost all of us will be dead, if not that day then within a few weeks.

We have never been closer.

The first nuclear war killed a lot of people, but not almost all. If there is another nuclear war, it might be a small nuclear war, and also might not kill almost all.

That being said, we are further from a total nuclear war than we were before.

Likelihood of complete human extinction
