Marijuana advocate Roger Christie ran a major drug trafficking organization on Hawaii island under the guise of religious freedom through the Hawaii Cannabis Ministry in downtown Hilo, said U.S. Attorney Florence Nakakuni.

"This was a large-scale business. Marijuana is big, and this group was heavily involved in it," Nakakuni said.

County and federal law enforcement officers arrested Christie, 61, and 13 other Big Island residents Thursday on federal conspiracy and marijuana manufacturing, possession and distribution charges. All 14 pleaded not guilty in federal court yesterday.

...

Christie has maintained that he is a minister who administers marijuana as part of sacrament.

"There is no law that protects his allegations of using marijuana religiously," Nakakuni said.

However, Hawaii's medical marijuana law does allow persons, certified by a physician, to possess up to a certain amount to treat a debilitating condition.

LOL, but is the admin, once again, going back on it's promise? I am not sure these guys had the license or if you can even get one in Hawaii to grow, but we need to get rid of the DEA.

Yeah, they are at it again.

SAN DIEGO—Federal anti-drug agents have raided at least four San Diego medical marijuana clinics and arrested 12 people accused of selling pot illegally.
A spokeswoman for the U.S. attorney's office in San Diego, Debra Hartman, says Drug Enforcement Administration agents served the search warrants Friday morning.

She says the suspects will be arraigned Monday on charges of conspiracy to distribute and manufacture marijuana and conspiracy to launder drug proceeds. She declined to comment further.

Kris Hermes of Americans for Safe Access says the raids undermine local efforts to regulate the clinics.

San Diego County is working on a new ordinance to crack down on the dispensaries. Federal agents have raided numerous clinics over the years.

For hydro, pretty much. That is Hawaii, everything costs more there, but that's not too far out of line with the going rate for hydro here in Florida.

The mids go for about the same price they did when I was a kid (80s), about $100 an ounce. But the hydro they sale today is WAY better than that shit we smoked in the 80s. 2-3 puffs and you are good for hours, plus it tastes better. Even the mids are consistently better than the crap we smoked in the 80s.

It's probably worth it, plus you know the money you pay is going to mostly non-violent American growers, rather than the ultra-violent Mexican cartels. Not that I care about their nationality, but I'd rather not support violent thugs, even though the proponents of the drug war are the true cause for the violence.
