Why is this not surprising? Like with his mega pork bill, Dems say it must be passed even though they do not know what is in it

Morning Bell: Obama Admits He’s “Not Familiar” With House Bill

Posted July 21st, 2009 at 9.16am in Health Care.

With the public’s trust in his handling of health care tanking (50%-44% of Americans disapprove), the White House has launched a new phase of its strategy designed to pass Obamacare: all Obama, all the time. As part of that effort, Obama hosted a conference call with leftist bloggers urging them to pressure Congress to pass his health plan as soon as possible.

During the call, a blogger from Maine said he kept running into an Investors Business Daily article that claimed Section 102 of the House health legislation would outlaw private insurance. He asked: “Is this true? Will people be able to keep their insurance and will insurers be able to write new policies even though H.R. 3200 is passed?” President Obama replied: “You know, I have to say that I am not familiar with the provision you are talking about.” (quote begins at 17:10)

This is a truly disturbing admission by the President, especially considering that later in the call, Obama promises yet again: “If you have health insurance, and you like it, and you have a doctor that you like, then you can keep it. Period.” How can Obama keep making this promise if he is not familiar with the health legislation that is being written in Congress? Details matter.

Sen. Ben Cardin Challenged From Floor of Town Meeting on ObamaCare - Video 7/20/09

http://gannett.a.mms.mavenapps.net/...articleplayer&maven_referralObject=1189554903

Here is video of Maryland Sen. Ben Cardin being challenged on Obama's Government Health Care Plan at a town hall meeting he held on the subject. A man in the audience challenged Cardin to explain why it was OK for the government to force an individual to have health insurance if they chose not to do so. In his case, he said he needed to use that money elsewhere. The man asked why he should be made to pay a $2500 a year fine for not having it.

Cardin made the ridiculous argument that if he did not have health care insurance and was injured, all the other taxpayers would wind up paying for him. It was a crazy argument because by adopting Obama's plan, Government would be assuming massive liability to provide health care coverage to far more people!

This is the second forum on health care that we know of where a member of Congress has had a rocky experience. Missouri's Russ Carnahan was laughed at and jeered in St. Louis yesterday as he presented the Democrats' Government Health Care Plan.

Chap posted a bunch of Propblems Ma is having in their reform
1. way higher than projected cost
2. longer wait times
3. no reduction in emergency room visits
exactly what did they accomplish???

His Kamikaze presidency appears to be coming short of hitting America at the waterline and completely sinking her.

Now he has to lie directly to our faces to remain on target.

The first Democrat has now gone on record by declaring Obama a political liability (Dan Boren - OK)

nice to see some dems not afraid of the ONE.
I know Mary L will never vote for Cap and scheme.

Sometimes arrogance and stupidity are interchangable. The truth is I think he really began to read his own pres clipings, watch the glowing coverage on TV, and he began to actually believe he was the Messiah.

The good thing is that it looks like people from his own party are beginning to see that Obama cannot walk on water.

no wonder he had a fake town hall meeting and his propaganda machine show from the whitehouse to present this....any real questions and people see that this is actually not a solution

no wonder many libs on here get so angry and act irrational when discussing it, they know that in order to pass it must be slammed down on top of heads so fast we won't know what happened

The health care crisis is an economic issue. We have the best doctors, the best hospitals, and the best drugs; however, they are out of reach for too many Americans. Costs have spun out of control.

The President's overall approval rating remains high at 59%.

The people want change.

The question still is will Obama have the balls to do what is needed vs what he can sell to the corporations?

From what I have seen so far I doubt it.
