Obama effigy found on U. of Kentucky campus

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) — Authorities at the University of Kentucky are trying to find out who hung an effigy of Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama on campus.

College spokesman Carl Nathe said it was found hanging from a tree Wednesday morning. Police immediately took it down.

School President Lee Todd says that he plans to personally apologize to the Obama family on behalf of the university and that he is "personally offended and deeply embarrassed by this disgusting episode."

It's the second time an effigy has been found on a college campus recently. Earlier this week, George Fox University in Oregon said it was punishing four students who confessed to hanging a likeness of Obama from a tree.

What implied threat, that's freedom of expression.

Regarding dolls I don't have one. But I imagine you have one of Obama with the live action mouth that gets used quite a bit from you.
 
There are specific laws in KY regarding nooses and hanging even in effigy.
In KY it is illegal for anyone but a legal hangman to even tie a hangmans knot in a rope.

Not me and I was born in KY and have spent a bit over half my life here.
And I think that 12% not voting for Obama becuase he is black figure is low for KY.
 
I like Kentucky. WHen I worked on the river I used to hang out in Paducah occasionally and when I was at Fort Campbell for Training I used to go to Kentucky Lake on the weekends. People there were nice. But I remember Black soldiers talking about how they got treated once off post at Fort Campbell.
