Now that Obama has picked a free trade economic team he will obviously not pursue the protectionist policies he campained on. Watch for bailouts to big Companies that is intended to keep union jobs, IE GM and other Manufacturing will get bailed out simply to appease the unions.

I still say it is cheaper to let the companies fold and help the displaced employees.

I also do not think we should be trying to bail out the junk bond finiancial institutions. And they do not seem to have union employees now do they ?

I agree but at least there is an argument you need a financial system to have an economy, there is no argument we need to have certain car dealers and other manufacturing jobs that are not in our Comparitive Advantage.
